So where do I start with the amazing Thanksgiving holiday we had. My Grandparents came in from Illinois, then our Uncle Russell and Aunt Elizabeth came with their family from Arizona. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of the food, the food and the food..OK I think all of you got the point. But really Thanksgiving is the best holiday, I enjoy being with family and friends and I always have great memories of these times. I had a blast with my cousins going to a coffee shop, shopping, playing games, working a puzzle and just having FUN.

In Everything Give Thanks

Most bloggers have posted about their Thanksgiving dinner and the things they did for Thanksgiving. But this Thanksgiving post is going to be just a little different. (a little later on I will post the Thanksgiving dinner).

What if you woke up one morning and the things you did not thank God for were all gone.

It kind of makes you think, I know for myself I don’t thank God enough for the little things as much as the big things in my life. When all of sudden you don’t have something you’ve had in your life for years, you see how you have taken it for granted.

As I write this I think of our family dog Geneva that died last night. As I watched her die I thought of all the fun memories that I had with her. You really begin to think that you did not thank God enough for her.

Geneva was a great dog, she lived a good 11 years, she was always a very happy and spunky dog.  She had a great personality, and she was always good at finding snakes and other animals.
We all will miss her Very Much.
Let us be thankful for the big and little things in our lives.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Girls Night-Out

For the past few weeks some of the girls in our church have been planning a night out. So on Friday night Rosie,Grace and Joanna met at our house and Kaitlyn and Lillie met us at the concert. The concert featured the Collingsworth Family, Gordon Mote and Triumphant Quartet. We had a great time listening to the different groups and stopped at McDonald's before heading back to our house for a sleep over, where we stayed up till 3am. The next morning Kaitlyn and Lillie left early because Kaitlyn had to work. The rest of us had breakfast and then headed out for a day of shopping. We went to the skirt store and then too see Kaitlin at her work. We had lunch at September Cheese Farms and then came home. We had a great day and a lot of fun.

Bethany and I

Friday afternoon my Pa emailed me to tell me to be ready to hunt when he got home. So after mowing a neighbor’s lawn, I got ready  to go hunting. Pa decided to try a new hunting spot, about a mile away from home. So about 5pm we got in the woods, we had our tree stands and had to pick a good tree to climb. It took us quite a while, but we finally found a good tree. I got up my tree and Pa got in another tree about 15 yds away. We were in our stands for about 5 mins when Pa saw a buck, it hung around us for about 30 mins. The buck was then leaving us and heading into a field, when Pa used his grunt call and the buck came back. The buck came right under Pa’s tree stand, which was a perfect shot for me, I waited until the buck turned his head to look away, and I shot with my cross bow. The buck ran off with my arrow in him, we then got down and went home to wait about 3 hours. Later that night with some friends (Joe, Brian and Josh) along with Bethany and Zoe, we went out to find it. We followed the blood trail for about 300 yds  to find him, he was a 4 pointer with a 16 inch spread. I am so happy to finally get my first buck what a great fall hunting season.
Hope you all are having a great fall as well...

Mom has been going to Illinois every year for the past 3 years to see her parents with one of us kids, this time it was my turn to go. On Thursday Mom and I left for Illinois to see my grandparents. We arrived there at noon and Aunt Elizabeth and cousin Justice did not arrive till later in the day due to a layover in Chicago.  After we picked them up that evening at the airport we had dinner at Red Lobster. Grandpa and Grandma are great hosts and made us feel so special and cooked us great meals. Grandpa and Grandma’s birthdays are few days apart, the last time Mom and Aunt Elizabeth visited at Grandma’s birthday, this time they were there for Grandpa’s. We had a great time with them and I hope they enjoyed the time with us as much as we did. Love you Grandpa and Grandma
