This Thanksgiving was different in that we did not have any people over and we did not go to anyones house.
It was just our family and Leland(our nephew). Mom decided to try something different, instead of the traditional Thanksgiving meal, you know Turkey and stuffing. We had seafood!!  Red Lobster biscuits, crab cakes, grilled salmon, coleslaw, wild rice pilaf and steamed shrimp in Old Bay seasoning.  For the finishing touch, dessert was fruit salad, pumpkin pie and chocolate peanut butter pie. Am I making anyone hungry yet?. I was in charge of the games and activities, we played a Thanksgiving alphabet game, poor kitty and drop the handkerchief. I can truly say that, this year I had the best Thanksgiving Day ever.

Hunting Seasons

Archery Season finally arrived…..the first day I went hunting with my Dad and Lincoln went with Joe (a brother from our church).

We got up at 5:00am and were in the tree by 5:30. We sat and sat… at 9:00 Lincoln and Joe walk by and we got down out of the tree. Joe said, “Lincoln shot a buck”. After breakfast Joe, Lincoln, Bethany and Dad left to go track the deer. They found the deer after following it for 3 miles,  it was a 7 pointer.  Then two weeks in to the archery season, my Dad went to a place in Franklin county to hunt and at 7:30 a nice big 11 pointer came by his tree and he shot it, and it ran 50 yard and fell over dead. At 10:45 a doe came by and he shot it, that ran 60 yards. He had a great hunt.
This  Monday rifle season opened. Dad and Lincoln went hunting in the morning, but did not see anything, but puished a doe to my Uncle Eddie who got it. Around 1:00ish, Dad and I left to go hunting in the woods. 30min in to the hunt I saw some deer’s tails but figured they had seen us and had left. But then I soon saw that they had circled around us. About an hour later my Uncle Eddie said he was going to walk and try to get some deer pushed our way. That is when I saw the deer, Dad told me to get the gun up and shoot. But I thought that they were too far a way,  but I did  find the deer in the scope and shot….And the deer went down, I was so excited, that I had gotten a doe.
My first kill with a firearm, two years ago I had gotten a doe in the same area with a my crossbow.
The season is not over and I am hoping to get another deer.

AZ Trip

Right after our bike trip to Washington D.C. My Mom and I left for AZ the very next morning. Mom goes to AZ to help my aunt with her children graduations  and I went to help ( or so my Mom thinks).  We arrived Tuesday and Wednesday Mom got to work while Mom slaved away, Serenity (my amazing cousin)  and I went for a 4 wheeler ride. Tuesday we helped in the kitchen and cleaned up the house, because my Aunt and Uncle, planned to surprise Wesley with a friend. Friday all of the kids left and went sightseeing. Saturday was the big day, we set up lights, tables, cleaned and cooked. The graduation theme was mexican, the menu: rice, beans, green chicken enchiladas, red beef enchiladas and a nacho bar. The food was remarkable. I had a blast!!!

Zoe Graduated & Biking Trip

I will just say the word...I DESPISE posting, and you ask why?

Well I will give you 3 good reasons- 1. I do not like to write 2. There is too much happening to write it all 3. And it is a lot of work.

So I am  just going get is over with and post, so here I go….
Zoë has graduated… Our Aunt Elizabeth and 2 of our cousins Wesley and Serenity, came in from AZ and Zoë’s best friend and her family came in from Wisconsin, as well. We had a great time we played basketball, went to Sight& Sound to see Noah, played and sang songs. All in all we had an awesome time.

Our family then went on a biking trip. We started in Williamsport, Maryland and rode to Shepherdstown, West Virginia, which was 31 miles the first day. The second day we started in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and rode to Leesburg Virginia 41 miles. The third day starting in Leesburg, Virginia and ending in Washington DC another 41 miles. For a total of 113 miles in three days.  We rode a section of the C&O canal towpath, which runs from Washington D.C. to Cumberland Maryland and then on to Pittsburgh.

Look for the next post in two months...LOL

BYC & Fair Time

Well, I am posting finally!! Knowing where to start is going to be very hard :)

A week after Serenity left we packed up our bags and left to go to Ohio for BYC. The camp was a week long, and almost all my cousins on my mom side were there. We had church two times a day, and played volleyball in the afternoon. It was great time.

The fair came up next, it started on Saturday. We showed our goats on Thursday at 8:00am. We all did well in the show :) Zoë showed two goats, Lincoln and I only showed one.
A wonderful second cousin, Joanna came and stayed with us for three days we had a blast. One day we ride our bikes to the fair to work in the fry stand!  The fair is one of the best things about summer.
