Hunting Season

Last Saturday our rifle hunting season ended, this hunting season we butchered a total of 8 deer.

Our first deer of the year; Zoe killed with her rifle which was a doe, five of the deer were road kills and the other two deer were from a brother in our church and another brother gave us a deer. Zoe uses a rifle, my Dad uses a rifle and bow and I shoot cross-bow.

It was a lot of fun hunting, even if I did not get a deer,  I got to see 2 deer while in the  woods, but could not get a shot at them. If you have never gone hunting you should try, it is a lot of fun.

Uncle Eddie named our butcher shop J & R, BLAZE-for our speed at butchering deer

The Caramel Cooks Are Back Again

Yesterday Melissa came to our house to make caramel popcorn with my mom. They started at 9:00am and ended at 6:00pm. First, they popped the popcorn, then they made the caramel out of brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, baking soda and vanilla it smelled very good. Then they poured it over the popcorn, then put in  the oven which even smelled better. After cooling it was put in a bowl to cool. After it was cooled it was put in zip lock bags or in small bags which were labeled. They worked very hard and had a lot of fun…50 pounds of caramel popcorn.

Making Gingerbread Houses

On Thursday we had a Keepers meeting at Sister Susan’s house we were to make a gingerbread house. We used a gold fish box for the foundation, and honey grahams to cover the gold fish box. The candy we used was gum drops, mints that were green and red, sprinkles, M&M and little candy canes.

It was a lot of fun.

Re-doing the Kid's Bathroom

This week my mom and dad re-did the kid’s bathroom.  The wall was a light pink and now is a golden color. To hang the towels we used a head board of a twin bed and painted it black, the shower curtain is a zebra print and the rug is black. It is a very nice bathroom.

3 Weeks of fun and excitment

On September the third, my cousin Serenity came from AZ to see us!
On Labor Day Serenity’s older brother Seth came from Ohio and surprised us. Seth stayed for 4 wet and rainy days and then went on his way to New York for some fishing.
On September the tenth, we left to IL , to see our Grandparents on my Mom’s side of the family.  Some of the things we did with Serenity were; tie-dying, fishing, playing board and card games.   We also played; basketball, jumping rope, and hopscotch, just to name a few!
We rode our bikes all around Galesburg, and we saw some history…like where President Lincoln had a debate, where Billy Sunday preached and the Church where Helen Keller gave a speech. Oh, and we cannot forget Carl Sandburg birth place!
We had a great time with Serenity here!    I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did.

Just a little PRAYER and THE Unexpected guest came…

On Friday my family and I left to go on a trip to Quebec, Canada. While we were in Canada a hurricane (Irene) came through PA… three large trees came down.

The first one almost hit the house it just missed our front porch, and the other tree almost hit the goat fence! The third one was right next to the play-house, it just fell away from the side of the play house.

We always pray before we go on a trip, “to keep the house and animal’s safe, that the Lord would put his guarding angles around our house and protect it”. On Saturday night around 12??A.M. the electric went out.

(There are some angles that come in human form). So, Uncle Eddie started the generator… Grandpa emptied the refrigerator and side freezer. The electric was off till Wednesday afternoon (a couple hours after we arrived home).

Last night we cut up some of the tree in the front yard and tonight we will finished up the rest.

The Lord sure is good to us, so glad he kept everything thing safe….!

On Wednesday my Mom and I left for AZ for my cousin Zachary’s graduation party. On Friday it was Wesley (SWEET 16th) birthday. My Grandma made Wesley a cake. Every day was filled with a lot of fun games we played two hand touch football, walleyball, foosball, water balloon fights and went on quad rides. Thank you Uncle Russell and Aunt Elizabeth for a wonderful time in AZ. Love you all a lot and thank you Zachary for graduating.
